Hi Clara, nice to hear that you are enjoying your stay in your "chosen home" !!! As you may know, I had been - though only on a holiday trip - to Canada, and also on Victoria Island !? Canada, the nature and especially the people, I had enjoyed extremely. Even in quite big towns as Victoria or Vancouver are the people were extremely kind. Victoria though I remember as being a very english town, it is even said to be more English than most towns in England themselves !? That should make you feel closer to home ;-) Here you can have - I have forgotten the name of the hotel, but I have seen you standing in front of it on one of your photos - the famous English Five o'clock Tea, though it is lousy expensive to do so. Much more I enjoyed a guided - at the time even free of charge - tour through the Houses of Parliament, which is right across the street ! Here they had even arranged for a German tour guide especially for us - and there were only three of us ... As I have seen you have already visited the Botanic Garden which I also enjoyed very much. How did you like it ? I hope you'll have the chance, to see the Rockies too, which I enjoyed ever so much. With some luck you may be even able to watch one or even more bears (ideally out of a car, "aber laß Dir keinen aufbinden !") or moose (Elch) or ... Have you had already a chance to watch a bald eagle (Weißkopfseeadler), which as far as I know can only be watched outdoors in the USA and Canada ? Or have you already seen one of the huge rafts (Floß) built from lumbered wood which are brought via the open sea to the sawmills !? Hopefully you may stand a chance, to visit one of the sawmills, they can be really huge compared to European ones !? Even there the Canadians had arranged for a German tour guide when I was across. Otherwise I had to do it on my own ... It's a shame but this is a sad record the Canadians are holding: For many years they have lumbered their wood, without even thinking or being worried about the consequencesa. I think I have bored you enough, and especially the lunch break is finished by now ... Keep enjoying yourself ! Take care ! Rudi
